A holistic approach to wine production and commitment to sustainability is well and truly alive at d’Arenberg Wines, the largest biodynamic wine grape grower in Australia. Reliant on sheep agistment, solar power and natural disease control, the harmony between environmental sustainability and cutting-edge production techniques is evident in every glass poured. The best place to sample their biodynamic, organic and vegan varieties? At the unique d’Arenberg Cube cellar door – a five-level wine extravaganza seemingly floating above rolling vineyards.

McLaren Vale’s Gemtree Wines’ commitment to sustainable production has roots as deep as their decades-old vines. The wineries’ organic and biodynamic credentials speak for themselves, as does their commitment to improve the land for future generations. Flocks of sheep replace pesticides to keep weeds under control, ground quartz prevents fungal infections and negates the need for chemical fungicides, cow manure and recycled water feeds the vineyard and solar powers the irrigation, winery and cellar door. Judged the world's best winery for Sustainable Wine Tourism at the Best of Wine Tourism awards in Bordeaux.

Drive to Cape Jervis to board a ferry to Kangaroo Island. A minimum of two days is recommended to explore the island, which is known for its diversity and abundance of wildlife. Echidnas, koalas, kangaroos and wallabies are frequently found, providing a remarkable close-up wildlife experience.

The Cellar Door at False Cape Wines is made from recycled wood, jetty timbers and stone sourced on the property. The Cellar Door will allow visitors to taste False Cape Wines in an idyllic setting nestled among the vineyard and Gum trees on the picturesque Willson River, surrounded by native vegetation on the Dudley Peninsula

As Kangaroo Island's premier tourist attraction, the award-winning Seal Bay offers visitors an unforgettable wildlife experience.

Set your own pace on our 800-metre wheelchair accessible boardwalk which meanders through the dunes to a number of viewing platforms.

For beach access to the sea-lion colony, join a guided tour to learn more about the amazing lives of these endangered animals with an experienced guide. There will be plenty of time for photos as the sea-lions shelter in the dunes, rest on the sand or surf in the ocean.

From this Kangaroo Island retreat, guests are given "front row seats" to the untouched bushland and native animals that roam the island freely.
