Day 1

After arriving in Adelaide transfer to the Barossa and check-in to The Louise, a luxury lodge of Australia. This afternoon, take the exclusive “Taste the Ethereal” tour at Tscharke Wines located just across the road from your accommodation. Walk through the vineyard to discover how the fruit makes it way from the vineyard to your glass before enjoying a unique tasting experience in their underground cellar. Be guided through a selection of the winery’s current releases and carefully selected back vintages. After your tour and tasting it is time to return to your accommodation and dine at one of the region’s best restaurants, Appellation. Enjoy a degustation dinner with matching wines as you watch the sunset over the surrounding vineyards.

Day 2

This morning is an exclusive breakfast experience for guests at The Louise, Breakfast with the Roos. A short 20-minute drive will take you to Kaiserstuhl Conservation Park where you will meet your conservation guide and embark on a short walk discussing the region’s diverse flora and fauna. It is then time to enjoy a gourmet picnic breakfast for an up close and personal encounter with some of the local kangaroos in their natural habitat. After breakfast it is time for a day’s touring throughout the Barossa. Visit iconic wineries and some local hidden gems as your guide takes you to locations that best match your tastes and interests. If you have interests outside of wine your guide can tailor the tour to bring in many of the regions’ artists, distillers, chef’s & unique characters to ensure you have a true Barossa experience. After the tour it is time to check-in at your next luxurious accommodation, Sequoia Lodge in the Adelaide Hills. After settling into your suite overlooking the Piccadilly Valley head to the three-chef hatted Hardy’s Verandah Restaurant for a degustation dinner. Ensure you speak to the in-house sommelier to perfectly match your wine for one of South Australia’s best dining experiences.

Day 3

Embark on a tour of the Adelaide Hills and McLaren Vale as you make your way down to Kangaroo Island. Visit Tapanappa Wines for a private tasting before stopping off for lunch at Deviation Road Wines. Then enjoy the scenic drive through the Adelaide Hills and down into McLaren Vale before a visit to Bekkers Clarendon Vineyard for a private tour with one of the owners, followed by a private masterclass in their wine room in McLaren Vale. After your wine tasting travel to Kangaroo Island to be met and transferred to your accommodation for the next two nights at Southern Ocean Lodge. Your meals are all inclusive so enjoy either the chef’s tasting menu or create your own four course menu to match your taste while looking over the incredible coastline and the Southern Ocean.

Day 4

After breakfast take the Wonders of Kangaroo Island signature experience for a half day tour of Flinders Chase National Park. See some of the most iconic locations on Kangaroo Island including Remarkable Rocks, Admirals Arch, and the Cape du Couedic Lighthouse. After the tour return to the lodge for lunch before spending the afternoon soaking in the incredible views and location of the property. Take a walk along the coastline or down to the private beach, book in for a spa treatment, take a dip in the pool, or relax with a glass wine a listen to the waves crash against the shore on your private deck. After dinner this evening take the Nocturnal Explorer signature experience in Hanson Bay Sanctuary to discover the local wildlife in the evening when they become the most active. Spot koalas, kangaroos, wallabies, and possums up close while keeping an eye out for the elusive owls and echidnas.

Day 5

To finish your luxe tour of South Australia, enjoy an experience you will never forget with the Seal Bay Sunrise experience that is exclusive to guests of Southern Ocean Lodge. Depart the lodge before dawn to arrive at Seal Bay and watch the sunrise over the ocean. As the sun rises the endangered Australian Sea Lions will emerge from the protection of the sand dunes and head to the beach or out into the ocean. Your guide will provide an insight into these incredible animals as you watch the wild colony with no other people in sight. Then travel to nearby Bales Beach where your hot gourmet breakfast will be waiting for you as you look over the white sandy beach and the Southern Ocean. After the tour return to Southern Ocean lodge for one last view of the incredible property before travelling to the airport for your onward flight.
