BUSHWALKING & HIKING TRAILS

South Australia is undeniably a brilliant destination for bushwalkers. Its mix of environments and dedicated trails mean there’s a wide choice of duration, length, difficulty and experiences. 

The Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail is a new experience offering multi-day walks through the Flinders Chase National Park. The 66-kilometre trail gives visitors access to a rugged, remote and spectacular coastlines plus diverse wildlife and pristine bushland.

Murray River Trails, part of Great Walks of Australia, is a four-day, three-night guided walking tour which allow you to explore the unique creek, floodplain and wetland environments of the Murray River with overnight stays on a houseboat. 


The Heysen Trail is one of the world’s great walking trails. Over 1500 kilometres (940 miles) long. The trail begins on the Fleurieu Peninsula, continues through the Adelaide Hills, the Barossa and Clare Valley and ends in the Flinders Ranges.


Southern Ocean Walks provides bespoke small group guided walking tours along the spectacular coastline of the Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.


The Clare Valley Riesling Trail, Clare Valley, follows along a former railway line. There are extra loops to wineries and heritage towns (54 kilometres/33 miles).

Clare Valley Wine & Wilderness Trail, where natural beauty and premium food and wine products come together to create an unforgettable experience. This public trail allows you to explore the entire 100km route or you can choose one of the six stages at your own pace.


The River Torrens Linear Trail starts at Henley Beach and runs right through the Adelaide city centre, and on to the foothills (12 kilometres/7 miles).


Arkaba Walk traverses Wilpena Pound and Arkaba in the Flinders Ranges and is one of the Great Walks of Australia. The walk is redefining the classic Aussie 'bush walk', adding luxury touches to a four-day private hike. The 45-kilometre guided tour passes through an ever-changing landscape.


Flinders by Foot offers three- or five-day guided walks in the stunning Flinders Ranges while staying at Rawnsley Park Station
