Golf

Combine wine-tasting and golf in the Barossa Valley, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale regions or enhance a golf holiday with fresh seafood along the Eyre Peninsula. There are spectacular coastal courses on the Fleurieu Peninsula and Limestone Coast and lots of lush, quality courses along the Murray River. For different scenery, try the treeless course at Coober Pedy Opal Fields Golf Club (which has reciprocal playing rights with St. Andrews in Scotland) or play on the reputedly world’s longest golf course Nullarbor Links on the Nullarbor Plain.

Great Golf Courses of Australia

With five South Australian golf courses now included in Great Golf Courses of Australia South Australia is on par with some of Australia’s top golf courses. All within easy access of Adelaide, they offer great hospitality, excellent cuisine, the best wines and unforgettable landscapes.

The Royal Adelaide Golf Club is the jewel in the state’s golfing crown – a private course ranked in the World Top 100. Designed by Dr Alister MacKenzie, the course provides holes over and around enormous sand dunes along the coastline. Royal Adelaide maintains its beautiful natural setting and fundamental charm of a comparatively open links course.

The birthplace of Greg Norman’s professional career, Grange Golf Club is one of Australia’s premier sporting venues with two internationally rated 18-hole championship golf courses and an award winning function centre. Liv Golf 2025 will be held at the Grange Golf Club from 14 - 16 February.

A scenic one-hour drive south of Adelaide, The Links Lady Bay Resort offers 28 spa suites with views over the 18-hole golf course and Lady Bay. Designed by golfing legends Jack Newton, Graeme Grant and John Spencer, it is strong enough from the back tees to test gifted golfers, yet fair enough to be enjoyed by the average players.

The Tanunda Pines Golf Club, located next to the Novotel Barossa Valley Resort, weaves its fairways among 100-year old gnarly gums. Golfers play on ribbon like Santa Ana couch fairways that meander through a largely undisturbed Australian bushland setting brimming with native wildlife.

Kooyonga Golf Club is also only 15 minutes from the city centre and has been the venue for many international and interstate championships and has always enjoyed a high ranking amongst private clubs in Australia.
