Flinders Ranges and Outback

The Outback Mail Run South Australia (SA) departs Coober Pedy twice a week and is tailor made for those wanting to discover more of the vast outback (without taking your vehicle off the bitumen!!).

The tour includes: pick up from your accommodation; 650+ kilometres of guided touring; lunch at either the William Creek Hotel or the Pink Roadhouse, Oodnadatta; and stops at points of interest and five remote homesteads along the way.

Starting from your accommodation in Coober Pedy you will travel in air-conditioned 4WD comfort on the roads first mapped out by the early explorers. You'll discover the 'Dog Fence', hear tales of early pioneers, view disused railway bridges that span the creek beds that feed into Kathi Thanda Lake Eyre, learn about current pastoral practices and view the fauna and flora of this unique part of South Australia.

Acknowledgement of Country

Standing on Kaurna Country, the South Australian Tourism Commission recognises the uniquely diverse Aboriginal communities across the state.

We value the knowledge Aboriginal people hold of Country and culture and are committed to growing genuine relationships with Traditional Custodians.

We will continue our journey of reconciliation and support Aboriginal tourism operators and communities to tell their own stories and share their culture with the world.
