The head of the bight is a world-class southern right whale watching site, located near the Western Australia / South Australia border. It is regarded as the best southern right whale watching site in Australia.

Every year southern right whales travel from the Antarctic to South Australia to breed, then once the calves have grown up, they migrate back to the Antarctic to recover and hunt.

The southern right whales undertake one of the longest annual animal migrations every winter. Their extraordinary journey can be witnessed in South Australia.

Our professional photographer leads customised photography tours, which include land & ocean-based photography as well as aerial photography to give you a comprehensive whale watching experience.
