The Grand Ballrom/ Art Gallery is without doubt the most impressive feature, and the most breathtaking space in the estate. With mezzanine floor, and tall ceilings featuring a stunning trio of chandeliers, a vast floor are covered with glistening polished porcelain tiles.
One of the largest collections of porcelain that you will ever see here in Australia and it is found at the Barossa Chateau. Hermann Thumms extensive collection of porcelain is from the early 18th & 19ths centuries and have been collected from all over the world.
The peices have travelled to England, France and Germany in search of new peices to join them and arround Australia for the ever-growing collection. The collec tion was put together throughout the course of 35 years. Included, peices from the great porcelain house of Meissen, Sevres, Worchester and Chelsea.
