Founded in 1881, the Art Gallery of South Australia is home to one of Australia’s great art collections. The collection comprises of over 45,000 works of art spanning from Australia, Europe, North America and Asia and includes one of the most important collections of Indigenous art as well as the only dedicated Islamic gallery space in Australia.

Carefully curated exhibitions and displays provide a unique experience, taking you through the history of art, up to present day in surprising and unexpected ways. As you wander from one gallery to the next, you’ll find works of art presented in ways that give new insights, culturally and thematically.

Take a tour with an experienced guide, attend an artist talk or plot your own course.

Open 364 days a year with free tours at 11am and 2pm daily, and until 9pm on the First Friday of every month.
